SYNCHRONIZATION OF INJECTOR CONTROL

Injector Control unit : ICU

The ICU module provides the control signals to drive an injector and the equipment needed to acquire images for the Injetvision spray visualization system.

It has several operating modes:

  • In internal mode, it generates its signals according to user-defined parameters without synchronization with an external signal.
  • In synchronized mode, it receives external information (a pulse on a logic input) which it synchronizes to generate the ‘injector control’ command.

Synchronization of injector control with Injetvision equipment

Injector control

  • Injector control with a time resolution of 0.1 µs.
  • Controls 1 to 10 injections per revolution at frequencies between 0.1 and 10 Hertz.
  • Operates either in signal generator mode (injection parameters entered by the user) or in single-shot mode (receives a pulse on a logic input).

An additional power module adapted to the injector to be controlled is required: IPoD coil (solenoid-type injector) or IPoD piezo (piezoelectric injector).

INJETVISION equipment control

  • The camera for taking instant images: it defines the instant of the image taking in relation to the 1/T signal and the exposure time with a resolution of 0.1 µs.
  • A mist extraction device for automatic cleaning of the chamber during successive injections.
  • 4 additional signals to drive 2 pulsed laser sources. These signals can also be used to control strobe lighting.
