Our expertise in measuring devices and on-board equipment

EFS has been an expert in mechatronics since its creation. EFS develops on-board measurement equipment based on electronics, mechanics, optics and on-board software.

ALL TYPES OF SENSORS,
RADIO, OPTICAL OR WIRED TRANSMISSION

Technology

Several new measurement patents have been registered by EFS. Ultrasonic measurement, vision, micro-fluidic measurement, acoustic impedance measurement, etc. EFS creates its own sensors when the market does not offer a suitable solution

EFS works on all types of sensors, whether resistive, inductive, capacitive, frequency, optical, piezoelectric, thermocouple, LVDT, RVDT, etc., with all their associated packaging. The analogue part is always as close as possible to the sensor and is then transformed into a digital signal that is easier to transport.

Once the signal has been digitised, EFS will process it, depending on the application, using an FPGA, a microcontroller or even a CPU, depending on the volume of calculations and the energy available. The aim is to optimise the data to be transmitted with reliable and useful information.

Once the signal has been processed and analysed, EFS integrates a data transmission solution. This transmission can be :

  • Radio without subscription (433 MHz, 868 MHz), dedicated frequencies (168 MHz maritime AIS and DSC) or with subscription SIGFOX, LORA, GSM 4G, 5G. The choice depends on the transmission distance, the volume of data to be transmitted and the working environment.
  • Optical with LED or Laser and photoreceiver for confined spaces with direct vision between transmitter and receiver.
  • Wired RS 485, Ethernet, etc. if the site allows.
