- In research and development, this module is used to define the power characteristics of the ECU or MCM to be developed for this injector. It also defines the acceptable tolerance ranges for correct injector operation.
- In production, the module enables the same command to be reproduced regardless of the IPoD module installed.

Power control rack for solenoid injectors
The IPoD coil is a power control module for injectors using magnetoelectric technology. It has several different control modes. The control modes are derived from a basic cycle comprising the phases required for control: preload, boost, inrush, hold, EOT or BIP, discharge, demagnetization (ref: EFS 8532).
There is also a 6-channel IPoD coil for power control in multiplexed mode for 6 injectors (EFS 8472). Nearby picture.
Power control rack for piezoelectric injectors
The IPoD piezo is a power control module for piezoelectric injectors. It also features several control modes. Its advanced functions include: single peak current control, multiple pulse control and constant current control (ref: EFS 8370).
There is also a 6-channel piezo IPoD for power control in multiplexed mode for 6 injectors (EFS 8478).
